My influences
are vast and endless. Getting lost in vinyl records and dialing in radio signals while growing up during MTVs explosion. Metal, punk, new-wave, pop, rock n roll, Americana, alternative, alt-country and old school country. Indie, goth, electronic, jam bands, disco, hip-hop, world music, funk and soul. Classical and ambient, acoustic pickers. Jazz and the blues. I soaked it all in. The Stones and Beatles. BB King to Bowie. The Beat Poets and mad writers I call friends. Spending countless hours learning songs, jamming with my brother after school in my bedroom. College bands, working so hard, getting tight and making deep progress in how we wanted to sound.
So many hours, listening to records, at home and with friends.
I’ve spent a lot of time
visiting museums near and far away. So many profound visits to the Toledo Museum of Art. Scouring art books and journals. My grandparents on my dad’s side were both artists. Very influential on me.
Every day, I discover new and old music. My guitar always offers new possibilities. It has never gotten old, only more urgent.
I’ve been opening support for so many incredible artists.
